Great news, our Kayak/ canoe launch area is now open at our Old Sambro Rd trail head.

Phase 2 of the upgrades to Long Lake Park are nearly complete. There are now new trails, parking lot and canoe/kayak launch at the old pump house site on Old Sambro Road. These new trails also connect to the Lakeview trail at the end of North West Arm Drive.  

This dog is missing in Long Lake Park area…last known sighting was in the wooded area between the St. Margaret Bay parking lot and this way, towards the Lakeview Trail; he was last sighted Yesterday.  Please email out to your networks. We want to share our good news! Our Lakeview trail has a new smooth surface. Special thanks to Polycorp and Peter Polly for his continued support of Long Lake Provincial Park Assoc. It was nice to see people out on the trail this morning and especially nice to see moms with strollers enjoys a walk.

Have a look at Google Maps or Google Earth, our Lakeview trail and our parking lot are now visible on the maps.

Attention all residents, the garbage cans and storage box at the Long Lake Parking lot and trails are not for household garbage. Anyone found dumping garbage at any of the Long Lake Park areas will be charged with littering or whatever charge the police deem appropriate. This household garbage is now littering our parking lot.

There was lots of snow in the park today. We decided to head in near Walker Road and along crabberry pond, had a great walk.

It was very cold on our walk around the lake this week, but soon summer will arrive and we can launch our kayak at the new boat launch.

Please remember that all dogs must be on leash as all times while walking the trails at Long Lake Park.

After a little shoveling, there is access to the Long Lake parking lot off of NW Arm drive. The parking lot is quite clear.

All are welcome to attend the Long Lake Provincial Park Assoc. Annual General Meeting. On Monday January 9th at 8pm, Captain William Spry Centre. Come see the people behind making the park more accessible for residents.

There is a new surface on some of the trail from Old Sambro Rd to the end of the parking lot. This section was done last week. It’s very nice and smooth and quite to walk on. hopefully we can get the rest of it finished the same way.

Long Lake Park Cleanup Help us cleanup Long Lake Park on Sunday April 17, 2016 – 10am – 12pm, volunteers needed to help cleanup the park . Meet at the new parking Lot at North West Arm Drive and Cowie Hill Road. Best to wear boots and bring gloves , we will supply Garbage bags.
