Long Lake Park – Phase 2

November 13, 2016 by Mike Harvey 6 Comments

Here is an update to this post, we are posting before and after photos to see how much safer the pump house area will be.

Before the start of Phase 2, the old pump house foundation and steel grate is still in place.

With the old foundation and frates gone, pathways lead to a boat launch.
Long Lake Park's phase 2 access is now underway, the old pumphouse site off of Old Sambro Road has seen the parking lot resurfaced and the old concrete pumphouse base has been replaced with a boat launch and pathways.

Could we please know when additional smaller size gravel will be added to all trails to make it comfortably walkable? Presently the gravel is too large for pets and frankly anyone to enjoy this wonderful new public park.

      Hi Finn

As soon as we know, we will let you all know, there seems to be some holdup with the process, there are a few different departments that have to approve the changes.

I am glad to see that the work promised for this end of the lake is taking place. I know a lot of people will be thrilled to see the boat launch in place.

Many folks I have talked to will be very happy when smaller gravel covers the pathways. Looking forward to this major improvement for walkers, baby strollers, etc.

Thank you Mike. So does this mean that small gravel expense has been approved by long lake board but you are waiting for city approvals?
