Always plan to have a safe day in the park, dress for the activity and weather. the parks has almost 5 kilometers of bike and stroller friendly groomed trails that are accessible by most people, however there are also rough unapproved trails winding through the park.

These trails can lead the less familiar traveler away from the main parking and groomed trail areas, so be sure to know where the trail goes before heading out. Also leave enough time before dark to get out of the park, people have become lost in these trails and have had to be rescued by emergency services.

Here is a good article on safety and travelling in the woods.
