Hiking Tips

Hiking Tips

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes. The gravel on trails is not suited to flip-flops or sandals. The foot trails in the woods often lead through swampy areas; waterproof footwear is recommended.
  • Stay hydrated. Bring water with you. There is no water fountain available at the park.
  • Maps are posted at all junctions in the park on the gravel trails. Take note of where you are and keep track of the direction of your hike. Please be advised that foot trails into the woods are unmarked.
  • Need to cool off after a long hike? Go for a swim in the lake!
