With most of the seasonal maintenance on the Lakeview Trails having been completed, and with clearance from the Provincial Government, we are happy to announce that the gates to Long Lake Provincial Park are opening this week.
As much as we all want to rush out and enjoy the trails, we must remember to be mindful of our social climate and to observe and respect the current public health directives around social distancing and social gatherings:
- Remain at least two metres away from other trail users
- Use the trails in groups of no more than 5 people
- Traveling by vehicle to the park is discouraged, but not restricted. If you live close enough to walk or bike to the park, then please do.
- If the parking lot is looking full, consider travelling to another park, and come see us another day – we aren’t going anywhere!
Our usual rules for park usage still apply:
- All dogs in the park must be on-leash. Also, please pack out your dog waste.
- Treat the park facilities as good as (or better than) you would treat your own
- Place all your trash in the garbage cans that line the trail. Household waste is not allowed; and most importantly,
- Have fun!
If you notice anything amiss in the park (downed trees, overflowing garbage cans, etc…), please contact us through our Facebook page. We know things are different now, but as long as we follow the public health guidelines that are currently in place, we will be able to continue enjoying all the benefits our park has to offer.
