The third Saturday of July is “Parks Day” in Canada. The Nova Scotia government’s parks website states:
“This annual event is celebrated by provincial parks as well as federal and municipal park agencies Parks host activities where families can have fun and learn new things about the benefits of parks and historical sites, the value of ecosystems, and protecting habitat.”
Parks Day at Long Lake Provincial Park in 2024
We will celebrate Parks Day at Long Lake Provincial Park in the spirit of this annual event by:
– a table set up at the main parking lot at Dunbrack Street with information about the park
– an interpretive walk starting at the Long Lake dam at 11 a.m.
– opportunities to volunteer with the Long Lake Provincial Park Association to help maintain and improve the park
