Long Lake Park – Phase 2

June 2, 2017 by Mike Harvey 4 Comments

Phase 2 of the upgrades to Long Lake Park are nearly complete. There are now new trails, parking lot and canoe/kayak launch at the old pump house site on Old Sambro Road. These new trails also connect to the Lakeview trail at the end of North West Arm Drive.

Love the expanded trail. When will the canoe/kayak launch be useable? The floats used to keep the water clean are still in place. ASAP would be preferable as it is a short season. Thanks

      Hi Marlene

We will be removing the silt barriers this week. The barriers had to stay in place during construction until all construction was finished on the launch site, and until all sediment has settled, which it seems to have done. Enjoy Long Lakes new kayak/canoe access.

    Hi!

There are no “dogs on leash” signs at the expansion…? Can we run free there?

No , the signs are not up yet, provincial park rules that all dogs must be on leash in all provincial parks.
