There is always plenty to do at Long Lake Provincial Park. Here are some before and after images from today (September 21st 2023) of work to keeps signs visible and fix potholes. Work like this is needed almost daily through the summer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It took one pensioner using hand tools about four hours to complete the work shown below, including taking photos and walking there and back with a wheelbarrow. A few hours of volunteer time can make a difference!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cleaning up litter, repairing trails, trimming grass, mending benches, routine patrols and talking with visitors are just a few of the things that Long Lake park volunteers do. Board volunteers are also kept busy making plans for the future and communicating with provincial staff and with political representatives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long Lake Provincial Park Association needs more volunteers. Our recent survey of opinions of park users revealed many concerns about the park as well as eliciting many ideas about potential improvements to the park. None of these can be addressed without volunteer help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
